** Accelerated Reader is now available for students to take tests at home. Look for "Renaissance Student"on their single sign-on app page.

During our time of online learning, it is important for students to continue reading. This a great time to take advantage of some online resources (e-books). Accelerated Reader will be avaiable for home use now and can be accessed from their single sign-on page. Students can read books on the sites that will be listed below and take a test to check their comprehension. If your child is locked out, e-mail me and I will unlock them. I'll be checking the site a few times a day. ([email protected])

The first recommended site is our own Follett Destiny site. (madisonfl.follettdestiny.com) We have over 500 e-books that students can "check-out" and read on any device with internet access. Students should now be able to access this site on their single sign-on app page. Most of these books are on AR.

Bookflix is our next resource. (bkflix.grolier.com) The login is "madisonco" and the password is "flix". This resource is primarily for prek-5th graders, but many of them would be appropriate for our middle school students too. This site has picture books paired with a nonfiction book on the same topic. Most of these books are also Accelerated Readers.

Epic! is an awsome resource. (getepic.com) Some of our teachers have already set up classrooms with it, but parents can also set up accounts for their children. Just go the site and sign up. This site has books for Prek-8th grade. Most of these books are in AR too.

Storyline Online is another great resource. (storylineonline.net) Books are read by actors and actresses.

AR Bookfind- (arbookfind.com) Many of you have books in your home. You can go to this site to see if a book is an Accelerated Reader. It will give the quiz number, book level, points, and a summary of the book. Students can take tests on any book that is an Accelerated Reader, but as a parent, you need to make sure it is the appropriate reading level for your child and the content is also appropriate. (Example- The Outsiders is a 4.7 reading level, but as most of you know or have read, it is about teenagers, has mature content, and would not be appropriate for 4th graders to read. This book would be best for middle school and higher.)
