Welcome

I am delighted to begin my 29th year as an educator/administrator with the Madison County Public Schools.  I have been blessed to make as many lasting impressions as I have over the years and I truly look forward to making an impact here as well.

I come to Madison County from New Britain, Connecticut where I was the principal of New Britain High School, one of Connecticut’s largest high schools with 2600 students.  Prior to working at NBHS I worked at Hartford Public High School as principal of a Nursing Academy.  Additionally, I worked in East Windsor and Bloomfield Connecticut, Newton Massachusetts, Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Champaign, Illinois.  Having worked in each of those environments, I have extensive experience with middle and secondary school as well as working in urban, rural and suburban environments.  Overall, having worked in both a magnet school system and a traditional public school system, I feel that my experiences match with the needs of the students at Madison County Central School.

I received my bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University in 1987 and my master’s degree from the University of Illinois in 1998.  While I have continued my pursuit of education for my advanced degree, I recently completed my Superintendency Endorsement from Central Connecticut State University in 2015.  My plan will be to pursuit my PhD in the very near future.

In August of 2004, I married my lovely wife, Stacy Chambers in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Currently, she is the Director of Florida State University Schools located in Tallahassee, Florida.  We both are educators who believe in the goodness of students.  We believe that they all need adults to give then love and guidance.

Overall, our belief in education is based on Neil Postman’s book, The Disappearance of Childhood, in which he states on the first line, “Children are the living messages that we send to a time and place that we may never see.” We have to provide the guidance and love to all of our children so that they will be able to develop into life long learns who dream about their future in terms of college, career and their post-secondary options.
